OpenGambit, LLC announced today it would join the ACORD associate membership program. The decision is in line with OpenGambit’s long-term strategy of developing standards based insurance products and solutions for P&C carriers. With most insurance carriers insisting on standards and consistency across application messages, the decision to adopt an industry-wide open standard gives a solid foundation for the technology solutions developed by OpenGambit. OpenGambit plans on leveraging ACORD XML as the basis for its SOA solutions and act as a liaison between carrier systems, vendor systems and internal users.
ACORD (Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development) is a global, nonprofit standards development organization serving the insurance industry and related financial services industries. ACORD is a member-driven organization whose members work together to improve the flow of insurance information between systems and partners.
